A woman living near the North Pole gives out her secret tips for getting to sleep in daylight.

Cecilia Blomdahl, 34, from Sweden, now lives in Longyearbyen which lies inside the polar circle.

She resides there with her boyfriend Christoffer Sporcken, and the pair have to endure daylight 24/7 or darkness depending on the time of year.

Cecilia documents these seasons on her YouTube channel, and offers advice on how you get to sleep when the sun is still shining.

She is a big champion of the Scandinavian sleeping method, which sees a couple have a duvet each rather than sharing.

Bizarrely, she also advised people to ‘freshen up’ their duvets before they went to sleep - she does this by hanging it out in the snow.

In a recent clip, she stood outside whilst the sun was beaming at 7:30pm, and documented how she would navigate sleep during this kind of time.

She said: “Even though it's the evening, I am putting out my sheets to air because we have a huge snow storm coming in.

“You have seen me take out my duvet to hang outside on my railing in all weather and seasons, in the middle of the dark polar night or on a freezing winter day or during the bright sunshine on Polar Day.

“I never miss an opportunity to freshen up my sheets.”

Despite people being baffled by the thought of having your lovely duvet outside in a snowstorm, Cecilia said this is common practice in Sweden.

She added: “So this is something that my Swedish mother always did, I remember her always bringing out our duvet.

“We lived a little bit outside the city in the countryside, so she would hang them over the railing.

“It helps to naturally disinfect and deodorize the duvet eliminating any lingering odors and bacteria.”

It also increases the lifespan of the duvet, according to the videographer.

    And it gets weirder…

Cecilia said that it is also standard practice for babies to be left outside to sleep.

She explained: “Even in kindergarten, the kids actually sleep outside for nap times in almost all kinds of weather, it's very common to have to supply your school with extra outdoor sleeping clothes for your child so they can take their daily nap outside in temperatures all the way down to minus 13 degrees.”

I don’t know about you but I couldn’t think of anything worse than sleeping in 13 degree temperatures!
