People are freaking out after seeing a video which claims to show Bigfoot.

The nine-second clip was posted to TikTok, where it has received some 1.2 million views.

In it, a figure can be seen sitting underneath a tree in the forest a short distance away from the camera.

It has fur a similar colour to that of an Orangutan, and posture like that of a human.

The short clip sees the figure look over to the camera, showing an ape-like face, before the person filming appears to run away and the video ends.

While many clips claiming to be of the mythical creature, Bigfoot tend to be quite blurry, so people were left reeling as this one was much clearer.

Many people were sceptical of the clip, though some appeared to be convinced by it.

They took to the comments on social media to share their thoughts.

One joked: "It can’t be him, the REAL Bigfoot is blurry, haven’t yall seen the pics."

Meanwhile a second posted: "You know what? why not this world is insane right now so why can't Bigfoot be chilling under a random tree."

Someone else seemed convinced by the video, commenting: "I zoomed in and its face it might be the scariest/realest Bigfoot capture I've ever seen. The second it looks at you terrifying."

Others were less than convinced, with one saying: "Where can I purchase one of these costumes?"

The video's poster replied: "I don’t believe it’s a costume."

Some people pointed out that the footage looked a lot like a particular Bigfoot costume, which is available to buy online.

This is the Jack Links costume, and has similar colour fur and facial features to the figure shown in the video.

When asked where they had shot the footage, the person who posted the video said it had been in the Parallel Forest in Lawton, Oklahoma.

One person pointed out how the figure had looked in the video, saying: "Not the arm rolls looking just like sleeves…"

Meanwhile someone else joked: "I wonder if they were doing a commercial."

There have been many anecdotal claims of people having seen Bigfoot over the years.

Nonetheless, Bigfoot is generally regarded as falling within cryptozoology, a pseudoscience which looks at animals and creatures which do not exist.

Other examples include the Loch Ness Monster or the Yeti.

Bigfoot also has some origins in Canadian folklore, and has since grown into a cultural icon.
