A bus driver's shift took a dark turn when he discovered a fetus had been left on one of the seats.
The driver was heading south along Baltimore's Green Route on June 1 when he made the startling discovery.
The fetus was found on the Maryland Transit Administration bus at around 12:39 pm when it reached the 2500 block of Kirk Avenue, located in East Baltimore.

This comes days after a placenta and umbilical cord were found in some trees in Cooks River at Earlwood in southwest Sydney.
After this scene was discovered by a couple walking their dogs, many called for the mother to reach out to government welfare programs to seek help.
Police have since launched a search for the mother and baby.

As of yet, nobody had been found.
Tests on the organs revealed them to be human and confirmed the baby is male, police reported.
While a fetus being discovered is quite unusual, it's not completely uncommon for newborn babies to be abandoned.
In 2021 alone, 31 babies in the US were placed in dumpsters or found in backpacks. 22 of the babies were found dead.

There has been increasing numbers of Safe Havens set up for parents to leave their unwanted babies.
These are located in hospitals, fire stations, churches, adoption agencies and emergency service buildings.
According to the National Safe Haven Alliance, since 1999, 4,524 babies have been left with Safe Havens.
In that time, 1,610 were illegally abandoned - of which 608 were found alive and 915 were found deceased.
