Footage reveals the heartbreaking moment authorities pulled a baby out of a Houston dumpster.
On Sunday (21 July), police received a call from a member of the public who was walking by a dumpster on Dashwood drive in Houston, Texas, at around 2pm when they heard a baby crying.
Emergency services attended the scene and discovered a baby inside the dumpster, alive and with the umbilical cord still attached.
The footage - shared by ABC13 Houston - shows the moment members of the Houston Fire department attend the scene and discover the baby inside the dumpster.

One of the fire crew can be seen kneeling down and lifting up a tiny child, another bending down to swaddle it in a blanket.
The baby's small pink hands can be seen reaching up, its head appearing still wet and it's reported the umbilical cord was still attached.
A manager at the apartment complex the baby was discovered behind told ABC13 Houston they believe it was an employee of a local taco truck who gave birth to the baby inside of the truck before going and dumping the baby in the dumpster, returning back to the trailer to tidy up.

They claim the trunk had been parked in the area for around three months.
However, while Houston Police Department has confirmed a suspect has been identified, it hasn't released any details about them and no name will be released unless charges are filed.
Houston Police Department spokesperson Jodi Silva added: "[We] are continuing to work through the investigation."
After being located by emergency services, the baby was transported to a local hospital and is now under the care of Child Protective Services.

UNILAD has contacted the Houston Police Department for a comment.
Sadly, it's not the first time a baby has been found abandoned in Houston.
Just last month, a baby was found in southeast Houston, another report by ABC13 Houston reveals.

And in another incident, a woman was discovered wandering the streets covered in blood, later allegedly telling police she'd just abandoned her baby.
Martee Boose from the Houston Fire Department said: "It's heartbreaking every time we see it.
"When you are in that situation with your baby and you are overwhelmed, maybe you're not mentally thinking about the most optimal situation, so it's important to avoid prosecution that you don't abandon or neglect the baby.
"By taking them to the fire station or the hospital, that's the best measure for the baby."
