A heartbreaking Facebook post reveals the moment a helpless daughter pleaded for help for her parents, sister and 7-year-old nephew in a North Carolina flood.
In a desperate attempt to raise awareness of the drastic effects of the flooding, Jessica Drye Turner took to Facebook on Friday to share a pleading post which included a picture of her parents, sister (Megan) and nephew (Micah) standing on the roof of the house as floodwaters surrounded them.
Like many families in the US currently, Megan Drye was forced to find safety along with her 7-year-old son Micah and parents - in their 70s - amid rampant flooding in their Asheville home due to Hurricane Helene.

On the Facebook post shared on Friday, Jessica wrote: “They are watching 18 wheelers and cars floating by."
Unfortunately, the grandparents and Micah didn’t make it from the flood, leaving Megan and her sisters to grieve three treasured family members. In the social media post, Jessica explained that her sister Megan was wedged between objects, and was rescued an hour later. Detailing what happened, she wrote: “Megan heard a voice tell her to let go of the tree. She told us, 'that’s the last thing I wanted to do. My head was above water and I’d go under if I let go.' She obeyed and was taken by the current until she was lodged between 2 trailers for 3 hours until someone finally saw her. Those 3 hours were a story in their own with a voice talking to her the entire time. She fought, and fought and fought until rescued."

In an update, Jessica shared that the house had collapsed, leaving the three of them to drown. "I cannot convey in words the sorrow, heartbreak and devastation my sisters and I are going through nor imagine the pain before us," she wrote.
Yet with an astonishing display of faith, she said that the prayers of others have been helping her and her surviving family members in this gut-wrenching time.
In an update on Monday 30th September, she wrote: “I will say, prayers have definitely carried us thus far (and will continue to do so). I feel a bit guilty bc I’m so at peace with things. We will see them again one day and there’s nothing that could entice them to come back after being with Jesus.”

Unfortunately, Turner’s loss is not the only case.
