Terrifying bodycam footage shows the moment police discovered a woman who had been tied to the floor with a chain around her neck.
Officers from Louisville Metro Police Department in Kentucky responded to reports from neighbours that they had heard cries for help coming from the property where the woman was being held.
Bodycam footage from the incident shows officers attempting to enter the property. All the doors and windows to the house had been barricaded.

The woman had managed to break open the second-floor window of the room where she was being held captive. A neighbour fetched a ladder, and the officers were able to ascend into the room, which was littered with broken glass.
There they discovered the woman, who was in an extremely distressed state.
The woman had a chain fastened around her neck with a padlock and which was secured to the floor.

An officer was able to find a hatchet inside the property, which they used to detach the chain from the floor. Firefighters then used bolt cutters to remove the other end from around her neck.
An officer said: “The woman had a chain around her neck, which was secured by a MasterLock, and that chain was bolted to the floor with screws."
The woman can be heard telling the police officer that her alleged captor - who she allegedly shares a child with - kept the key to the lock on his chain.

Since the rescue the LMPD has confirmed that a man called Moises May, 36, was arrested two days after the woman was discovered.
May allegedly trapped the woman in the property after an argument they had became physical. It is also alleged that he had restrained her in the bathroom and cut off her hair using a machete, according to an arrest report.
The report says that she had initially left the property following the argument, but returned to collect some of her belongings. It alleges that May had then locked her in the house and chained her in the room, where he is accused of threatening to kill her.

The report claims he then left the house, taking her phone with him so that she would not be able to call for help. However, luckily she was able to break open one of the windows and scream for help.
May has been arrested and charged with one count of kidnapping, intimidating a participant in the legal process, wanton endangerment, assault, terroristic threatening, and harassment.
In a court appearance on Saturday 19 August, he pleaded not guilty. He is due for a further court hearing on 28 August.
