Doorbell camera footage has revealed the moments leading up to a teenager being 'struck by lightning' in a freak accident.
The odds of being struck by lightning in a given year are less than one in a million.
While extremely rare, there's a positive survival rate with 90 percent of victims living to tell the tale, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports.

Sadly this wasn't the case for a 16-year-old in Florida though and he died after reportedly being hit by lightning on Wednesday (September 18).
He was rushed to hospital during the violent storm with burn wounds to his chest and inner thighs, says Fox Carolina, and was later pronounced dead.
Cameron was a junior at McArthur High School and his family have described his death as an 'unimaginable loss'.

"[Day’s mother] faces the unimaginable loss of her son, Cameron Day. Cameron was only 16 years old and in 11th grade," friends and family shared with the news outlet.
"He was a bright light and sweet soul who touched the lives of so many."
Zandra Laguna lives in the neighborhood that Cameron was seemingly struck and her doorbell camera caught some what is believed to be the teenager's final moments.
In the video, someone - believed to be Cameron - was seen stood with their bike on the other side of the street as an aggressive storm hit.

Zandra had opened her front door to look at the storm unfold but went back inside for cover after lighting and thunder came rolling in.
"All of a sudden, there was a huge lightning that struck. I went inside because it was really, really loud. I got scared," Zandra recalled to CBS News.
The footage later shows emergency services at the spot Cameron was seen standing.

Speaking about seeing an ambulance turn up, Zandra continued to share: "I saw the rescue stop right in front of where that boy was, and then I see them picking him up from the floor, and he just looked like I had a feeling it was that the lightning struck him, because it was instantly like from one minute to the next."
According to Pembroke Pines Police officials, Cameron was found lying on the ground and was then taken to Memorial Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Preliminary information suggests that Cameron died as a result of being struck by lightning but, as of Friday (September 20), the fire service hadn't received confirmed that this was the cause of the 16-year-old's death, CBS News reported.
