A woman was found with 'multiple stab wounds' after allegedly being attacked by her husband.
According to a press release from Tennessee Police, the alleged incident occurred on Monday night (July 1) in Dickson, Tennessee when Tessa Mowel arrived home.

An investigation from law enforcement determined that her husband, Zachary Mowel, had 'attacked his wife, doused her with gasoline, and then set the home on fire'.
However, a GoFundMe set up by Tessa's sister claims that she had arrived home from work and her husband 'stabbed her in back with a kitchen knife and repeatedly stabbed her 8 more times in the neck, chest', while also 'brutally beating her over 30 times in the face'.
Describing Tessa's injuries, her sister wrote that she has 'nine stab wounds, all her ribs are broken, collapsed lung, her entire right leg has severe 3rd-degree burns, and she is also paralyzed from the waist down'.

She also alleged that the couple's children, aged five and eight, had witnessed the assault and had been 'pleading for their dad not to kill their mom'.
According to court documents obtained by ABC affiliate WKRN, officers found Tessa with the knife still lodged in her body.
Despite the injuries that she sustained, the mom-of-two survived the ordeal and is still recovering in hospital.
Mowel was arrested and is currently in jail.

"Tessa is the strongest person I know and her and her boys did not deserve this torture!"
The GoFundMe appeal started by her sister is to help cover the costs of her medical bills, as well as support her while she is away from work recovering.
