A GoFundMe has since been set up to support Jorge and Lizette's family, as well as pay for the cost to bring Jorge's body home to be laid to rest and for Lizette's medical bills.
The page creator penned for the fundraiser bio: "Our best friends have experienced a horrible accident. Jorge had a heart of gold and was always there for family and friends. The love they shared was one for ages.
"We are asking for your help to bring him home & help with medical expenses for her."
Now, Lizette has filed a lawsuit against the parent companies of Sonoran Sea Resort over the death of her husband.

KFOX reports that she'd filed the lawsuit while still in critical condition in hospital.
According to the lawsuit, Lizette was shocked when she tried to help her husband out of the water.
The lawsuit also claims Jorge was electrocuted and drowned while resort staff took ten minutes to attend the scene.

“There is no reason this should have happened,” attorney Tej Paranjpe said, as per KFOX.
“Hotels and resorts have a duty to ensure guest safety. At no point did resort staff think to engage an emergency shut-off, not to mention warn guests of a faulty, dangerous amenity."
Lizette also claims the resort should have known of the fault electric warning and displayed signs for guests.
She is seeking more than $1 million in damages.

The lawsuit has also asked the Sonoran Sea Resort to not fix the jacuzzi to preserve the evidence.
