Staying in hotels is often seen as a fun getaway many get excited about. But there are still some things to look out for when staying in one, according to a hotel worker.
A woman who works at the front desk of a hotel shares that there are eight no-go’s when staying at a hotel.
And some of the contents on the list may be things that surprise you... It’s not as simple as keeping up with cleaning or trying not to spill anything on the carpet.

These first-hand insights are designed to help ensure you have the best stay during your hotel visiting experience.
"I work a front desk at a hotel and I’m gonna read off a list of things you should not do as someone who is coming to visit a hotel," the woman explained on TikTok.
So without further ado, here are the list of eight things to avoid when staying at a hotel.

Showing up to the hotel on the wrong date
"Do not show up the day after your reservation, thinking that you're going to check in. It has gone into no-show and we no longer have that reservation," warned TikToker @mamafromarkansas.
Booking third party
The TikToker said that booking via a third party could make it harder if the guest needs to change any details regarding their stay. "Do not book third party, do not book with them... we cannot touch that reservation because you booked third party," she said.
Booking the wrong dates
The TikToker also mentioned if you book the wrong dates for your hotel stay, you can’t blame anyone else but yourself.

"Do not get mad at an employee, because you booked the wrong dates for the reservation - it's not our fault and we send you a confirmation via email, so that's your fault for not double checking," she said.
Checking availability
The hotel worker explained that if there's no availability, there's no point in repeatedly asking.
She warned: "If you call, and ask if we have availability on a certain date, and we tell you no, please don't ask four more times... I'm looking right at the screen and it's not giving me any inventory for those dates."

Bringing children to events
"Please don't bring your kids to an event and let them run a muck in the hotel and tear things up while you're at the bar getting drunk," she added.
Leaving a bad review
Understandably, when you’ve had a bad experience at a hotel, you may be tempted to leave without explaining the problem and write a bad online review. But the hotel worker pleaded with people to avoid doing this.

"Please do not leave the hotel if you have issues and don't let us know and then leave and give us a bad review. You did not give us an opportunity to fix your issue," she said.
Checking suitability
Before you book at the hotel, ensure you do your research to make sure it has everything you need.
"Do not book a reservation at a hotel if you have not looked at what amenities the hotel has offer," she added.
Cancellation policy
The TikToker also added that you should not be that person who thinks that they are the exception to policies applying to them.

She warned: "Please do not be the person who thinks that policies do not apply to you.
"We have a 24 hour cancellation policy which means if you call the day of your reservation, you're gonna' get charged the late cancellation fee."
