Woman on nine-month cruise around the world shared the reality of living on ship

A woman who has boarded a cruise around the world for nine months of the year has shared what life is really like living on the luxurious ship.

A sailor's life may not be the one for you or me, but it certainly appears so for one travel-obsessed woman who has boarded a cruise ship for a whole nine months of the year, starting and ending in Miami to visit all seven continents.

Angie Linderman revealed she has taken on the 'Ultimate World Cruise' on the Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas, where she will be away from home and out of office for a whopping 247 nights, and seeing 11 wonders of the world in more than 60 different countries.

Aside from the eye-watering price tag of $60,000, it certainly sounds a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

But, is it all it's cracked up to be?

Taking to TikTok, the 37-year-old has lifted the lid on the reality of spending three-quarters of a year onboard a ship, which includes being super prepared.

In several videos to her 175,000 followers, she reeled off all the essential must-haves for her mega expedition and how she keeps her cabin organized.

One video shows her room and her bathroom aboard the cruise, and how she manages to cram nine months of essentials inside it, particularly with the aid of a door organizer.

She explained: “On the bathroom door I've got extra toiletries, there are miscellaneous items like band aids, masks, bug stuff, lotions, sunscreens.

“Kind of organised, and then I've just got my sunglasses and other random things in here at the moment.

“The wardrobe is pretty well organised because of these hanging things that make you have a lot more hangers. I bought my own hangers and then they provided us with plastic and wooden ones.”

She revealed she managed to bring all the essentials with her, such as a calendar and weather appropriate clothing, as well as fun items from jewellery to hats and a hot water bottle to fins and a snorkel.

Angie was even well-prepared for Christmas, packing gifts and wrapping paper into her many bags.

She said: "Up here is Christmas stuff, electronic stuff, food and snacks I brought, including these two boxes of chocolate that are Christmas presents.

“Over here on the coach chair area, I have my journal and my binder for the trip that held all my excursion and visa information, my little photo printer, a couple sudoku books, pens and stickers.”

Viewers have since been living vicariously through her journey, however, it's not all been fun and games as she said she sometimes faces cancelled ports and delays.

A TikTok video posted shows she was evacuated from the Guardians of the Galaxy show at Disneyland for an unknown reason.

But explaining why she wants to do this, Angie's YouTube bio reveals she has the BRCA2 gene, meaning she is at a much higher of developing breast or ovarian cancer.

Both of her parents died at the young age of 65 from cancer and Angie herself underwent a preventative double mastectomy in January 2023.

The description adds: "So, seeing as it seems I have an expiration date it’s time to do all the things, visit all the places, and live now."

Her videos show her having the time of her life in Asia, Australia, South America and more in the last three months.
