Elden Ring, often heralded as one of the greatest games of all time, doesn't shy away from an easter egg or two.
It's safe to say that the latest game by Japanese studio FromSoftware has been popular among fans - so much so, it even has a Metacritic rating of 97%.
And now, it seems as if users are not only spending hours playing the open-world role-playing adventure, but they're also spotting a fair few easter eggs too.

FromSoftware are the creators of the critically acclaimed Souls series.
It all started with Demon's Souls in 2009 and then continued with the Dark Souls trilogy.
The history of the studio's previous games are important as it helps you spot the easter eggs in Elden Ring.

Dark Souls has a medieval European setting and dark atmosphere, which was in part inspired by Berserk, a cult manga from Japan.
Kentaro Miura, the creator of Berserk died before the release of Elden Ring, which may have influenced the references and these much-discussed easter eggs in the new game, as per Cracked.
First up, it's clear to see Miura's influence on the series when you compare King Gaiseric from Berserk to Radahn from Elden Ring, pictured above.

Another easter egg to keep an eye out for is Griffith's post-prison look in Berserk, which looks markedly similar to that of the prisoner class from Elden Ring.
Even the helmets, with wings on the side depicted in Elden Ring feel like a homage to Berserk.
Even Guts, the main character from Berserk is referenced in the new game, with his sword making its way onto the screen.
In addition to the heart-warming references to Berserk, there are a few other easter eggs to keep an eye out for in Elden Ring, as per Den of Geek.

This includes one familiar face fans of FromSoftware are sure to recognise.
Trusty Patches, a backstabbing hyena, first appeared in Demon’s Souls and has had a cameo in every Dark Souls gave since. And now, you can spot him in Elden Ring, if you look close enough.
Another one to look out for is the Moonlight Greatsword - that gigantic glowing blade has been part of every game the studio has developed and this one is no exception.

However, users can’t exactly use a weapon called the Moonlight Greatsword in the game, but they can wield the Dark Moon Greatsword, which is basically the same sword, with a different name.
So, have you spotted any of the easter eggs yet?
