On its Maximizing Battery Life and Lifespan page, Apple explains regardless of what model product you have these tips could save much you need to charge your device.
“There are two simple ways you can preserve battery life — no matter how you use your device: adjust your screen brightness and use Wi‑Fi,” Apple says.
“Dim the screen or turn on Auto-Brightness to extend battery life. To dim, open Control Centre and drag the Brightness slider to the bottom.

“Auto-Brightness adjusts your screen to lighting conditions automatically. To activate it, go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Display Accommodations and set Auto-Brightness to On.”
This simple tip can have such an impact because despite smart phones coming quite a long way in the last 20 years, the high-resolution screens most phones have drains large amounts of power.
If you check your phone and you see the brightness dial is completely turned up, it certainly might be worth dialling it back and seeing if you notice a difference.

On the flipside, thanks to the advancements over the last 20 years, reliable wi-fi connections are everywhere so connecting will likely be easier than it was a decade ago. So you can stay connected, while also saving on your battery.
“When you use your device to access data, a Wi‑Fi connection uses less power than a mobile network — so keep Wi‑Fi on at all times. To turn on Wi‑Fi, go to Settings > Wi‑Fi to access a Wi‑Fi network,” Apple says.
