iPhone users are flocking to social media to weigh in on a new feature in Apple's latest iOS 18 update.
Whispers about the latest Apple iOS update have already been filling social media, iOS 18 believed to hold the potential to completely change the way iPhone users use their device.
And yesterday (10 June), Apple revealed some of the stand-out features which are included in iOS 18, however, one has left people divided.
Apple's announcement about its incoming iOS 18 update on its website states: "iOS 18 gives users even more control with tools to manage who can see their apps, how contacts are shared, and how their iPhone connects to accessories.

"Locked and hidden apps offer users peace of mind that information they want to keep private, such as app notifications and content, will not inadvertently be seen by others.
"Users can now lock an app; and for additional privacy, they can hide an app, moving it to a locked, hidden apps folder.
"When an app is locked or hidden, content like messages or emails inside the app are hidden from search, notifications, and other places across the system."
While this is amazing for parents who need to hide certain apps away from kids, for example, their Amazon or banking apps, well, it's not rocket science to see how else this feature could be used by the more shady iPhone users among us.

And it's not taken long for people to flood to social media to weigh in on the new feature.
One X user wrote: "I can’t imagine what’s going to happens with the new ability to hide apps on your iPhone with the new iOS 18 update."
"IOS 18 update lets you lock a specific app….apple making it way to easy to hide your suspicious activities lmao," a second added.

Calling it a 'cheater's paradise', a third commented: "On the apple update you can hide and lock apps, and they won’t even come up if you search words in the search bar."
"iOS18 is a sneaky link’s update.. You can hide apps and they aren’t even visible on search. Can hide apps and lock with Face ID. Hidden apps are in app library but won’t show unless your Face ID unlocks it. Sneaky link summer," a fourth wrote.
And a fifth added: "iOS 18 introduces the ability to lock apps with Face ID and hide them. Oh Apple don’t make that serve."
UNILAD has contacted Apple for comment.
