Call of Duty developers seem to have back tracked on their angry comments directed at Christopher Judge.
Judge voices the character Kratos in the video game series God of War and, upon receiving an award at The Game Awards earlier this month, poked fun at Call of Duty.
"It is such a pleasure to be back here. I have such great memories of last year Mr. Pacino, forgetting to thank my wife," the actor began his speech.
The music then started to swell, giving the actor the hint to get on with it.

He took the cue, and continued: "All right all right, I get it. I get it. Not gonna stand up here making long speeches. I'm gonna stick to the script. No eight minute speech like last year, but fun fact.
"My speech was actually longer than this year's Call of Duty campaign."
It's reported that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III can be completed in just four hours, while typical COD campaigns are at least seven hours.
Following Judge's tongue-in-cheek remark, COD developers took to X to hit out at the actor.

"'Funny' but yeah the metrics that COD absolutely destroys all of the God of War games (probably combined tbh) in is also equally laughable (if not more)," one fumed.
Another made a thinly veiled stab at the user engagement on God of War, writing: "Imagine having short user engagement once your game is consumed.. can't relate."
But things appeared to have since cooled down, with some developers even backtracking on their previous comments.

"I deleted the Tweets. I can take a lot of sh*t but insults just for the sake of abuse, jokes about harassment and death threats are where I draw the line," one developer tweeted in a thread.
"[...] Also I should apologise to Chris Judge. There's a good chance that those words were not his, and I should've considered that sooner. And to call out big companies on a public stage is an absolutely terrifying thing to do and is not his responsibility."
A fellow COD employee replied: "I got the same, but it’s all good. People can’t tell that at least in the case of my tweet it was poking fun back.

"For some reason they think I’m an upset or straight out angry. lol but they don’t know me so it’s what it’s, I said what I said."
Others who also hit out at Judge's mark also appear to have deleted their tweets.
UNILAD has approached Judge's representative for comment.
