An Adam Sandler lookalike has revealed what happened when the Grown Ups star finally realised he had met his match.
Max Kessler was reportedly first told he looks like Sandler when he was just eight years old, and with the actor having only increased in popularity over the years, Kessler has been subject to an entire lifetime of comparisons.
The likeness between the two only grew with the release of Sandler's film The Do-Over, in which he plays a character named – you guessed it – Max Kessler.

Hear how Kessler reacted below:
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Kessler explained he initially thought it was a joke when he saw Sandler's character had the same name as him, becoming convinced that someone had somehow manipulated the trailer as he saw it.
However, when it turned out to be true Kessler couldn't resist attempting to reach out to the star, so he posted an image of himself next to one of Sandler on Reddit, writing: 'The name of Adam Sandler's character in his new movie, The Do-Over, is Max Kessler. My name is Max Kessler. Oh yeah, and I look just like him.'

The likeness between the two caught the attention of millions of users and eventually made its way to Sandler, who responded by challenging Kessler to pull the same face as him before he invited him to the premier of The Do-Over, with a message which read: 'OK. You can come party with the better Max Kessler at The Do-Over premiere on May 16th.'
Kessler agreed and met Sandler for the first time on the red carpet, where the actor described him as a 'younger, better looking version' of himself. The pair talked about their similarities, and Sandler said he was 'happy [Kessler] was happy' with the realisation that he shared his name with the film character.
Recalling the events on TikTok, Kessler claimed that he was about to board his plane home when Sandler called him and invited him to his studio, where the pair then spent the day 'hanging out'.

The story wowed a number of TikTok users who responded to say Sandler was a 'cool', 'nice' guy and that Kessler was 'lucky' to have been able to meet him.
A couple of users questioned whether Kessler could be Sandler's 'son' considering their uncanny resemblance, while others admitted they were convinced he actually was the actor before hearing his story.
