The bromance between Rob Schneider and Adam Sandler is still going strong after the actor revealed how frequently the Waterboy star has called to check up on him.
Okay, so it’s been a minute since the pair have been seen on screen together - with their last on-screen appearance being 2020's Hubie's Halloween - but that doesn’t mean they’ve forgotten about one another.
Schneider even went as far as to praise his friendship while attending the New York premiere of Sandler’s new Netflix comedy special called Adam Sandler: Love You on August 20.

The actors first met in the 1980s and went on to star alongside each other in the 1998 film The Waterboy in 1998, before then going on to regularly work together.
And the 60-year-old explained that their 50-year friendship has only grown stronger as the years pass, telling PEOPLE: "There's not been a week in 30 years where he doesn't check in on me.
"I mean, that's true. No matter where I am in the world, I'll get a phone call, sometimes in the middle of the night.

"He called me from Italy, [and said], 'What are you doing?' I go, 'It's two o'clock in the morning.' 'Well get up. I need to talk to you. Are you good?'."
How sweet!
Schneider went to say that the pair have 'been friends for five decades now', and he still finds it 'incredible' that the Uncut Gems star still includes him in 'all this stuff'.
"He's a special cat." he said. "I mean, I really, I don't have any words to say except I love him and I just want him to be healthy, happy, successful. He's just incredible.

"And he's doing Happy Gilmore 2. How amazing is that?"
I mean, that film is a staple Sandler movie, but is Schneider going to be in it?
"We'll see”, he teased.

The actor then gushed about his friend’s career, noting that ‘he's just getting started’.
Schneider said: "It's beautiful. Him doing Hustle was great, and Uncut Gems is great. ... He's working with really, really talented people.
"He's got a new movie coming out with George Clooney for Netflix. It's been a wonderful, great experience for him and a great deal for Netflix to get the biggest movie star in the world on there.”
Oh, to have a friend as nice as Schneider.

On the topic of the newest film, Sandler himself spoke to PEOPLE about making the sequel, saying: "I'm more than excited, probably the most excited I've been in many years to shoot something.
"We worked hard trying to write something that we thought people would have a good time with."
