When it comes to comedy, is there anyone as iconic as Adam Sandler?
Across what is approaching a 40-year career, the Sandman has starred in some of the most iconic comedy films of all time in his 90 different roles as an actor.
That is before you even begin to look at his sneakily impressive drama career, with hits such as Uncut Gems and The Meyerowitz Stories.

Before all this acting career though, Sandler was a stand-up comic, first taking the stage at 17.
Following his film debut in 1989, he began to more regularly perform in comedy clubs, and has every now and then since released specials, including a series of comedy albums.
As of today, August 28, the star has just released another on Netflix – titled Adam Sandler: Love You.

The good news? Sandler’s newest comedy special is an absolute hit.
The Times called the special ‘terrific’, saying: “Now 57, Sandler is still at it, and judging by his new special, Love You, he hasn’t lost a step.”
Directed by Josh Safdie, who directed Uncut Gems along with his brother Benny Safdie, the special is chaotic and genre-bending, in no way being a traditional stand-up where they simply stand on stage and poke fun at the crowd.

If you’re feeling emotional thinking about the length of Sandler’s career, and how brilliant it is that all these years later he’s finding ways to make us laugh, you’re not alone.
Netflix posted a clip from the show to Twitter, with fans rushing to the replies to espouse their love of Sandler.
One fan replied saying: “At the end i was full of tears. The tribute to all the comedy legends was one for the ages. Thank you Adam Sandler and thank you Netflix for release this special.”

Another said: “Adam it's about f*king time you went back to stand up! The quality of stand-up comedy has went down hill so badly.
“It's awesome seeing people like Adam Sandler and Martin Lawrence as well as others go back to Stand-up! I miss actual good quality stand-up!”
Stand-up is not the only role the comedian is set to return to, with the news that he is bringing back Happy Gilmore for a Netflix sequel.
If his return to stand up is anything to go by, Happy Gilmore 2 will be a hit with fans.
