Ariana Grande's comment about Millie Bobby Brown goes viral after actor gets engaged

Ariana Grande's comment about Millie Bobby Brown goes viral after actor gets engaged

The singer's old comment has resurfaced amid fans saying the couple are too young

Ariana Grande's comment on one of Millie Bobby Brown's old Instagram posts has resurfaced after the Stranger Things star announced her engagement to Jake Bongiovi.

Millie, 19, announced her engagement with a loved-up Instagram post on Tuesday alongside her 20-year-old fiancé who is the son of legendary singer, Jon Bon Jovi.

The monochrome picture making the announcement showed the teenage star beaming from ear to ear while in the arms of her beau and wearing a ring.

She penned the caption with Taylor Swift lyrics: "I've loved you three summers now, honey, I want 'em all."

Jake also shared an announcement post to his own page, simply writing 'forever' alongside two snaps of the happy couple.

The announcement confirmed speculation that has been circulating on social media over recent weeks, after she flashed a glimpse at the ring in a recent post.

Most were delighted with the news, but some fans criticised the announcement, commenting on how young Millie is.

One said: "Sorry to be a killjoy but this is not going to last, millie you grew up too fast, you deserve a normal and fun adolescence. You are 19."

"You are too young to be making this decision," said another.

A third said: "Girl didn't you just turn 19?"

Fans have now dug up an old comment Ariana Grande left on a 2018 Instagram post from Millie.

Commenting beneath a 2018 post of Millie, who was 14 at the time, kissing her former flame Jacob Sartorius atop a lifeguard watchtower on the beach captioned 'moonlight with him', Ariana quipped: "I wasn't even allowed to leave my house until I was 20."

Fans may think this implies the 'thank u next' singer would agree Millie is too young to be getting engaged, but it sounds like a bit of friendly teasing to us.

Most fans were delighted with Millie's happy news.

The Enola Holmes star recently explained she and Jake first connected and became friends on Instagram before things became romantic.

In an interview in which she answered the internet's most searched questions about her, she said: "We met on Instagram. And we were friends for a bit, and then, what can I say?"

It wasn't until June 2021 that she introduced Jake to her 62.7M followers, posting a cute photo of him planting a kiss on her cheek.

Millie has previously called Jake her 'partner for life' in a gushing post where she shared a carousel of pictures of the couple earlier this year.
