Britney Spears’ mum Lynne has responded after the singer accused her family of abusing her, saying that she feels ‘hopeless’ after her daughter’s ‘rejections’.
The 40-year-old star shared new allegations about her conservatorship on YouTube yesterday (28 August), saying in a since-deleted audio clip: "They threw me away – that's what I felt like, my family threw me away.”
Britney also took particular aim at her mother, saying she felt ‘more angry’ at Lynne than dad and former conservator Jamie, as her mother allegedly ‘wouldn’t speak up’ for her.

“I heard when reporters would call her at the time, and ask questions of what was going on, she would go innocently hide in the house and she wouldn’t speak up,” Britney said.
“There was always like, ‘I don’t know what to say. I just don’t want to say the wrong thing. We’re praying for her.’
“I feel like she could’ve gotten me a lawyer in literally two seconds… Every time I made contact with a firm, my phone was tapped and they would take my phone away from me.”

Now Lynne has spoken out on Instagram, having posted a black and white photo of herself smiling alongside her eldest daughter, urging her to deal with the matter 'in private'.
“Britney, your whole life I have tried my best to support your dreams and wishes!” Lynne wrote.
“And also, I have tried my best to help you out of hardships! I have never and will never turn my back on you!

“Your rejections to the countless times I have flown out and calls make me feel hopeless! I have tried everything. I love you so much, but this talk is for you and me only, eye-to-eye, in private.”
Spears was placed under the conservatorship – which the star herself branded ‘abusive’ – in 2008, with her father Jamie appointed as her legal guardian to be given control of her personal and financial affairs.
He eventually stepped down last August amid constant furore from #FreeBritney campaigners, before the arrangement was ended by a judge in November.
Britney went on to marry long-term partner Sam Asghari, 28 – which she had been unable to do while under the controversial conservatorship, and has since continued to use her freedom to criticise her parents and sister Jamie-Lynn.
