Bruce Willis' wife, Emma Heming Willis, has just spoken out about the 'paralysing' grief she has felt following her husband's recent medical diagnosis.
The 67-year-old Die Hard actor was first diagnosed with aphasia back in March of this year, in which his family announced his immediate retirement from acting due to the health issues.
Aphasia is an illness caused by damage to the brain which results in an impaired cognitive functions. This can lead those with the medical condition to develop problems with their speech, writing, reading and understanding language.

While the usual cause of aphasia is a head injury or stroke, some people can develop it through sustained brain tumours, infections and neurodegenerative diseases.
Willis' daughter, Rumer, first broke the news on Instagram where she made the statement: "To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities.
"As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him," she added.

Taking to Instagram more recently, Emma Heming Willis uploaded a short video in honour of National Grief Awareness day.
Emma, 44, captioned the clip: "This was the summer of self discovery—finding new hobbies, going out of my comfort zone and staying active."
The compilation video shows Emma doing an array of these 'new hobbies' - some of which include at-home boxing classes, flower re-potting, painting, tennis, weeding and spending time with her family.
"My grief can be paralyzing but I’m learning how to live alongside it," the post reads as Emma - who has been married to the Pulp Fiction actor since 2009 - shows her worried fans exactly how she has found her own way to 'live alongside' the grief.

Echoing some wisdom from Scout Willis, Emma's step-daughter, the 44-year-old model concluded the Instagram post on an inspiring note: "As my step-daughter Scout Willis told me, grief is the deepest and purest form of love. I hope you find some comfort in that too."
The video shows Emma spending some quality time with with one of her and Bruce's daughters.
While the pair share two children, Mabel and Evelyn, Bruce is also father to three other children who he shares with American actress Demi Moore; Rumer, Scout and Tallulah.
