Scream fans all over the world prepare your socks to be rocked clean off.
Casey Becker - you know, Drew Barrymore's character from the iconic 1996 movie - could still be alive.
Yep, we're sure your very sense of self has been shaken to the core.

But take a deep breath, darling, and we will press on.
Barrymore reckons that the mad serial killer Ghostface might not have been all that crash hot at being a serial killer.
American TV show Ross Mathews revealed that he asked if Becker had perhaps survived in the original movie.

"You know, doctors can do amazing things and you said 'maybe there's a chance she did survive'," he said.
"So, does this make you want to bring her back for Scream VII?"
Barrymore likened Becker's untimely demise to having a C-section while giving birth.
"I'm pretty sure a C-section is comparable to what happened to her," Barrymore said. "Like, literally. And I'm here! I'm fine! So, maybe Casey Becker will be okay."

Barrymore then added: "With good writing, you can make anything happen."
Okay, we'll admit that it is sort of hard to make a comeback from being stabbed in the heart and disembowelment, but who are we to argue with movie magic?
Anyway, if you haven't seen it, Becker was chilling at home preparing for a night of Netflix and chill with her boyfriend Steven Orth.
Then, the phone rings and Ghostface is on the line.

He tells her he can see her and then is generally pretty creepy until he eventually tells her to look outside where she sees her boyfriend is bound and gagged in a chair.
The serial killer then told her she can answer horror movie trivia questions in order to spare his life.
Seems a rather flippant way to deal with life and death, but anyway, she messes up and he kills them both.
Or does he? Maybe not.

Maybe one day we'll find out if Barrymore does get to reprise her Scream character.
But for now, we'll have to just enjoy the string of Scream movies we do have.
Barrymore praised the franchise's continued success on her show.
"[It] is just so fun and cool," Barrymore said.
She added: "I'm so glad that this franchise is still such a viable commodity."
