Drew Barrymore has revealed the reason why she often sits a little close to guests on her chat show.
Fans have remarked how the actor and chat show host can sometimes get a little close to celebrities making an appearance.
Now, Barrymore has explained that she is aware of this, and said that it is something she is working on as she knows that some people are not impressed by it.

Some viewers had previously taken to social media to share their discomfort at her interviewing style.
One wrote: “Her behavior is unprofessional. Guests are booked on her show to promote what they’ve got going on."
Another commented: “They’re working and not there to snuggle with Drew. It’s a very weird thing to do to strangers.”
Someone else joked: “She needs one of those dividers like the grocery store or bank."

Meanwhile, a fourth: “I’ve seen her show and the interviews are weird, she just basically climbs in people’s laps practically."
Barrymore has addressed why she sometimes gets close to people she is interviewing on her talk show.
Barrymore's talk show began during the coronavirus pandemic, meaning that the format of the show had to change to comply with social distancing measures.

This meant that interviews would have to be done via video call rather than having someone actually in the studio.
Barrymore explained that she had found this difficult as she enjoys being around people.
She told Entertainment Tonight: “Do you know how hard that pandemic was for me? I was alone in a studio by myself.

“I like to be around people! It’s not everyone's favorite and I’m sorry to those people.”
The star acknowledged that some people are not keen on this, and clarified that she is trying to break the habit.
She said: "I’ll try to practice physical distance which is not my strong point."
Barrymore's talk show The Drew Barrymore Show has just been renewed for a When asked about how she feels about the show being renewed, she said: "I still can't believe that. It makes me think about how taking risks are important.

"When we wanted to launch in a pandemic that wasn't an obvious way to go, and it was a tremendous risk."
She added: "I think it led to the uncertainty but it also led to the possibilities, and if we had not been given that chance, that unorthodox timing, we would not be here today."
