Jamie Foxx is said to be 'recovering' after a meal for his birthday at a restaurant left him injured.
The Beverly Hills Police Department 'responded to a reported possible assault with a deadly weapon at Mr. Chow restaurant' in Los Angeles shortly after 10pm on Friday (December 13).
"Upon investigation, officers determined that the reported assault with a deadly weapon was unfounded. Instead, the incident involved a physical altercation between parties," the statement continued.

"The BHPD conducted a preliminary investigation and completed a report documenting the battery. No arrests were made."
Police did not mention Foxx by name, though his spokesperson did provide a statement to confirm it was the actor involved.
As per CNN, the spokesperson commented: "Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth.

"He had to get stitches and is recovering. The police were called and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands."
Certainly not the way Foxx would have liked to have celebrated his 57th birthday.
Foxx's birthday disaster comes just days after the Hollywood star opened up about his recent health troubles in Netflix's Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was.
The actor suffered what was described as a 'medical complication' while filming the upcoming Netflix action comedy Back in Action in Atlanta.

An emotional Foxx recalled having a 'bad headache' on April 11 last year and asking 'my boy' for an aspirin.
"I realized quickly that when you’re in a medical emergency, your boys don’t know what the f**k to do," he joked.
Before the actor even had chance to take the tablet, he passed out and says he can't remember anything for '20 days.'

Foxx was initially sent home after a medical examination as a doctor gave him a cortisone shot, but it was Foxx's sister who took him to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta for further checks.
And upon further tests, Foxx was given the news he'd suffered a brain bleed that led to a stroke.
Mystery remains to this day as to how the bleed on the brain came about, as Foxx explained: "It is a mystery. We still don't know exactly what happened to me.
"All I can tell you is that I appreciate every prayer because I needed every prayer."

He went into a coma before re-emerging in May 2023, but needed a wheelchair to get around.
It was very much touch and go for if Foxx would make it, though he thankfully emerged from the other side after having rehabilitation in Chicago.
