Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis thanked his children during an Emmy award acceptance speech.
It was a big night for Jason Sudeikis at the Emmys last night (12 September) as Ted Lasso scored big, picking up multiple awards to celebrate an incredibly successful second season.
Sudeikis himself won 'Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series', while Brett Goldstein picked up the 'Supporting Actor' gong for his performance as Roy Kent. Watch his speech here:
MJ Delaney also won the 'Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series' award for helming the episode No Weddings and a Funeral, while the entire cast and crew were awarded with the 'Outstanding Comedy Series' Emmy.

Sudeikis and the rest of the Ted Lasso attendees stepped up onto the stage to collect the award, making it the second time he'd gone onto the stage to give an acceptance speech that night.
The cast and crew took so long to get onto the stage that once they got there, it was almost time to take the Emmy and leave.
Sudeikis opened his speech with: "Wait, we just got here, alright we're down to 30 seconds."

With the clock ticking, he had to rattle through a whole list of names of people to thank while co-star and co-creator Brendan Hunt subtly counted him down.
However, there were two names he was never going to leave out as Sudeikis made sure to mention his children before wrapping up his speech.
He signed off by saying: "Otis, Daisy I love you very much and we'll see you for season three at some point."

The actor is currently locked in a custody battle over his children with ex-partner Olivia Wilde, and while he didn't mention the drama between them, he made sure to give a shout out to his children.
Earlier this year, Wilde was served custody papers from Sudeikis while on stage at CinemaCon, while a spokesperson for Sudeikis said that the actor had no knowledge of when the documents would be delivered.
The former couple, who broke up in 2020 and have two children together, are working out the details of custody for their children to figure out where they'll live and how much time they'll spend with each parent.
Wilde had previously explained that she and Sudeikis had attempted to co-parent their kids while living together during lockdown, but it became clear that it was no longer 'benefical for the children'.
