Jennifer Aniston is facing backlash for her reflections on how Hollywood has changed over the years.
The rise of platforms such as YouTube, Instagram and TikTok have led to Hollywood becoming infiltrated with influencers and people using six-second videos to find fame.
In the late 90s and early 2000s, the movie capital of America was mainly made up of actors, musicians and artists who couldn't rely on the internet to help boost their profile.

However, in speaking about the change which has occurred in Hollywood over the years, Jennifer has received heavy criticism online over whether she has the right to be making such observations.
Aniston noted how fortunate she feels to have entered the industry at the point she did as opposed to more recent years where the internet has 'shaped a new culture'.
In conversation with Sebastian Stan for Variety's Actors on Actors series, she said: "This thing of people becoming famous for basically doing nothing.

"But yet having these incredible careers, and then women's reputation, I mean, Pam, Paris Hilton..."
She continued: "I feel so lucky that we got a little taste of the industry before it became what it is today, which is just different - more streaming services, more people.
"You're famous from TikTok. You're famous from YouTube. You're famous from Instagram.

"It's sort of almost like it's diluting our actor's job."
However, viewers have found flaws in the star's reflections, particularly as Jennifer herself is the daughter of two actors, Nancy Dow and John Aniston.
One user tweeted: "Mind you, her parents are actors."

A third commented: "Jennifer Aniston (nepotism baby) wants to talk about diluting the actors job. right."
"What is she talking about she literally got in cus shes a nepo baby lmao," a final said.
Others pointed out the impact the actor's financial background and appearance could have had on her rise to fame.

"Casting directors literally used to go up to pretty girls they randomly met and offer them roles if they 'said' they could act," one user wrote.
A second stated: "'I miss it when you could only get famous when you were already privileged and rich" thats what shes saying."
"Back in my day you needed to WORK to get famous from an all-caucasian tv show set in new york city," another said.
Jennifer's father, John, is best known for his role in soap opera Days of Our Lives (1965) and his role as Quarren Ambassador in the television series of Star Trek: Voyager (2001).
Jennifer's mother, Nancy, appeared in television series such as 1996's The Beverly Hillbillies and 1967's The Wild Wild West.
Most recently, she appeared in family drama Pure which was released in 2004.
She also wrote a book titled From Mother and Daughter to Friends: A Memoir about her relationship to Jennifer. It was released in 1999.
