Before Jennifer Lawrence became an Oscar-winning actress and arguably one of the most famous women in the world, she had tried her hand at modelling, and it was... not as successful.
J-Law explained that she had booked a modelling gig with Abercrombie & Fitch, but was disappointed to discover that she didn't make the final cut.
"I did stuff for Abercrombie & Fitch but you would never know because none of my pictures got released," she told Conan O'Brien back in 2013.

The Hunger Games star said she thought it was 'unbelievable' that she had been excluded from the final cut.
After all, Jennifer Lawrence is an absolutely stunning woman, why shouldn't she have made the campaign.
But when her agent emailed the A&F team to get to the bottom of it, it all started to make a little more sense.
"They, instead of answering with any words or explanation, they just sent over the photos," Jen recalled.

"There was this one part where they threw us a football and we were on the beach, so they were like, 'play football!'"
While the other Abercrombie models flawlessly tossed a ball around on the beach, sun in their face and windswept hair billowing behind them, Jennifer took the note a little too seriously.
"There's like this one picture where this girl is like just about to catch this football and, like, behind her I'm like flared nostrils, red face, my hair's crazy and I'm like mid-air.

"And at one point she screamed, 'get her away from me!'"
Jen joked that she couldn't understand how she had suddenly gotten so good at football during the photoshoot, until she remembered she was working with professional models.
"I thought that, overnight, I just got really good at football. And then I realised that they were model footballing and I was really playing football," she laughed.
"So I was like, 'These guys suck!' And yeah, I ended up losing in the long run."

In the end, though, Jennifer was the one who really got the last laugh, with a wildly successful film career that has earned her several awards over the years.
And as if that wasn't enough of a clap back, Jen's success in film eventually landed her her very own Dior campaign when they released their scent 'Joy' back in 2018 - so perhaps her modelling career isn't a lost cause after all!
