There might be some stern words exchanged in the Bennifer household this evening, as old footage of Jennifer Lopez branding her on-again fiancé Ben Affleck’s back tattoo ‘awful’ has resurfaced online.
Affleck has a very large and very colourful inking of a phoenix on his back, and speaking in 2016 Lopez said of the piece: “It’s awful!”
The Jenny from the Block hit-maker made the comment during an appearance on Andy Cohen’s Plead the Fifth segment, and admitted she’d have no qualms voicing her opinion to Affleck himself.
In a clip posted on Instagram account Bravohistorian, JLo exclaimed: "It's awful. I mean, I would tell him that. I would tell him like, what are you doing?"

JLo even suggested Affleck’s tattoo could have been ‘cooler’ (ouch), adding: "It has too many colours, his tattoos always have too many colours.
"They shouldn't be so colourful. You know what I mean? They should be like, cooler. I don't know."

Having absolutely none of it, Affleck insisted on The Ellen Show in 2019 that he ‘likes’ his back artwork, which seems rather lukewarm considering the tattoo takes up his torso’s entire behind.
"It represents something really important to me. It's meaningful to me, I like it,” Affleck asserted.
In happier news for Bennifer, the powerhouse couple announced they were once again engaged over the weekend.
A Hollywood love story if ever there was one, Bennifer first got engaged in 2002 – and 17 years after calling it quits, rekindled their romance last year.

Their love was cemented this month in the form of an emerald engagement ring that’s reported to have cost Affleck up to £10 million, which is nearly quadruple the price of the $2.5 million ring he popped the question with nearly two decades ago.
The pair decided to give their noughties romance another go last year following Lopez's split from Alex Rodriguez. Affleck also shortly dated his Deep Water co-star Ana de Armas.

Addressing their rejuvenated romance on Ellen, Lopez recently said: “I don’t think anybody was more surprised than us. You never could imagine that something like that could happen. It’s a beautiful thing."
She told PEOPLE: "We're older now, we're smarter, we have more experience, we're at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things."
A representative also confirmed to PEOPLE last week that Lopez and Affleck were once again engaged after the former posted a clip of her corking ring on social media.
