Jojo Siwa has called out Candace Cameron Bure for what she perceives as homophobia after the former Full House star started up a new Christian channel called Great American Family.
Candace Cameron Bure decided to leave behind Hallmark to set up a new channel that aims to be ‘the God-and-country alternative for holiday entertainment’.

Speaking about her decision, she told the Wall Street Journal: “My heart wants to tell stories that have more meaning and purpose and depth behind them.
“I knew that the people behind Great American Family were Christians that love the Lord and wanted to promote faith programming and good family entertainment.”
On leaving Hallmark, she added: “It basically is a completely different network than when I started because of the change of leadership.”
When asked whether there will be LGBTQI+ storylines in anything released by her new channel, Bure said: “I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core.”

Well, Jojo Siwa obviously doesn’t agree with Bure’s decision, or her new channel.
Posting a screenshot of a headline that reads ‘Candace Cameron Bure’s plan for new cable channel: No gays’, she wrote: “Honestly, I can’t believe after everything that went down just a few months ago, that she would not only create a movie with [the] intention of excluding LGBTQIA. But then also talk about it in the press.
“This is rude and hurtful to a whole community of people.”

Alongside Bure, former Hallmark chief Bill Abbott is also joining the new channel as well.
Siwa isn’t the only one to have taken issue with Bure and Abbott’s new business venture.
Actor and entrepreneur Hilarie Burton said: “Now they’re just openly admitting their bigotry.
“I called this s*** out years ago when Abbott was at Hallmark.

“Glad they dumped him.
“Being LGBTQ isn’t a 'trend'.
“That guy and his network are disgusting. You too Candy.
“There is nothing untraditional about same-sex couples.”

Siwa and Bure have a bit of a past when it comes to arguing online, with Dance Moms star Jojo making a TikTok earlier this year calling Bure the ‘meanest celebrity’ that she’d ever met in her life.
Abbott, who left Hallmark in 2020 over a row about a same-sex family in a commercial, said that ‘spiritual or faith-based content is grossly underserved’ and promised that Bure would be a ‘key piece of what we’re doing’ at the new channel.
They’ve got a whole heap of Christmas content coming out this year, but you can bet that fans of Jojo Siwa won’t be watching any of it.
