As shown in the video above, after Madonna takes to the stage to present the award, Ross references her newly adopted child David Banda, who was born in Malawi on 24 September 2005.
After finding charitable organisation 'Raising Malawi' in 2006, Madonna decided to adopt 1-year-old David from Home of Hope, an orphanage in the capital city of Lilongwe.
Ahead of the news, Ross said: "Wow what a year it's been for you.

"Congratulations on the tour and congratulations on your lovely little black baby, David."
Most of the crowd gasped in shock while others thought it was funny.
"Are you stopping there or are you going to get more because I went to Africa, all I came back with was a wallet," he continued.
Madonna brilliantly responded: "Well you might go home with a black eye."

Earlier last year, Madonna praised her 17-year-old son for wearing her dresses and proudly thought that the teenager 'looks better in them' than her.
The 'Like A Virgin' hitmaker, told The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that David can look swag' in any outfit.
"It's really irritating," the iconic singer said. "He wears my clothes and looks better in them. He can even wear a dress and look butch."
"He's going to end up being one of your guests," she said before explaining that he has 'everything' required to make it as a star.
Fallon replied: "He's got it. He's got magic. He's funny, he's charming, he's athletic, he's a good-looking dude."
