Andy Cohen has addressed the rumours that he and John Mayer are romantically involved with each other.
Joking speculation about a romantic relationship between the pair has been rife as the two have been close friends for years.
But it was an appearance on SiriusXM's The Howard Stern Show last year which set the rumour mill churning out speculation.

During the appearance Cohen said that he and Mayer were 'in love with each other' - a comment he later admitted he made 'flippantly and off-handedly'.
Now of course there are many different types of love, and if The Lord of the Rings has taught us anything it's that men can and should be more affectionate in their friendships.
All the same, when someone uses a phrase like 'in love' it's perhaps not surprising that fans began wondering if there was something going on.
Now Cohen has addressed the speculation about his and Mayer's relationship once and for all.

Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, he clarified that the pair are not romantically involved, saying: “Let them speculate! I honestly love John Mayer, and he loves me.
“But because we’re so affectionate toward each other, people don’t know what box to put that in.
“They assume we’re sleeping with each other, which we are most definitely not.”

It's not the first time that Cohen has spoken about his and Mayer's affectionate friendship.
He previously told Bruce Bozzi: "John Mayer is someone who is very in touch with his emotions.
“He very quickly in our friendship started saying, 'You know what, I gotta tell you something — I love you.'”
Cohen added: "He is someone to say, 'I love you and I cherish you and I cherish our friendship' — just this stuff that straight guys aren't necessarily supposed to say."

Mayer was also present when Cohen was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Speaking to THR, Mayer said: “When he inducted me into the Hollywood Walk of Fame, John Mayer said that I unwittingly have become a gay best friend to people who never had a gay best friend. That really moved me.”
He added: “There’s a lot of moms who have come up to me at book signings and say, ‘I watched your show for years with my son, who then wound up coming out of the closet, and having you meant a lot to us.’”

While the pair have generally responded to the rumours with humour, they have sometimes called out why the speculation exists at all.
Speaking about the 'in love' comment on Radio Andy, Cohen said: "The more it became headline news, the more butthurt I got over it.
"You know why? Are two men not allowed to say that they're in love? Are we all so flipped out?"
