Britney Spears has shared the details of a 'passionate' fling she had with Colin Farrell after she was left broken-hearted by her breakup with Justin Timberlake.
Spears opens up about her two-week whirlwind romance in her upcoming book, The Woman in Me, in which she discusses fame, survival and hope throughout her years in the spotlight and beyond.
Spears' love life was very much in the public eye as she got involved with Timberlake - one of the other biggest pop stars out there - but she's now sharing new details that didn't make it in front of the cameras.

In an excerpt of the book cited by Time, Spears claims Timberlake slept with 'six or seven girls' in the weeks after they 'officially' ended their relationship.
She describes being heartbroken over the end of their relationship, writing: "He was a girl’s dream. I was in love with him.”
When Spears began to try dating again, she was set up with Farrell through a 'club promoter friend'.
After Spears visited Farrell on the set of his 2003 film S.W.A.T., she says the pair struck up a romance which apparently took them both by storm.

The singer goes as far as describing their romance as a 'two-week brawl', saying: “Brawl is the only word for it - we were all over each other, grappling so passionately it was like we were in a street fight."
The pair appeared in public together at the premiere of Farrell's movie The Recruit, also released in 2003, though Spears admits that she wasn't entirely over Timberlake at the time.
“As I had before when I’d felt too attached to a man, I tried to convince myself in every way that it was not a big deal, that we were just having fun, that in this case, I was vulnerable because I wasn’t over Justin yet," she explains.

Farrell told reporters at the event that the pair were 'not dating', but said Spears was a 'sweet, sweet girl'.
"There’s nothing going on - just mates,” he said at the time.
Spears later admitted to W Magazine that she'd 'kissed' Farrell, describing him as the 'cutest, hottest thing in the world', but saying the relationship was 'nothing serious'.

Though Spears doesn't detail in The Woman in Me how her relationship with Farrell ended, she admits that 'for a brief moment in time' she thought there 'could be something there'.
"The disappointments in my romantic life were just one part of how isolated I became. I felt so awkward all the time," she writes.
UNILAD has contacted representatives for Farrell for comment.
