Major update in case of Gossip Girl star reported missing for two weeks by family

Major update in case of Gossip Girl star reported missing for two weeks by family

Chanel Maya Banks' family last heard from her on October 30

A huge update has been given regarding missing Gossip Girl star Chanel Maya Banks.

According to her family, Banks last got in touch with her loved ones on October 30.

Having not heard from her for some time, they reported Banks as missing and accused her husband of being 'uncooperative' with the search.

Speaking to ABC7, Danielle-Tori Singh, Banks' cousin, said: "Five days without hearing from my cousin is red flags and alarm bells. She doesn't go more than 48 hours without speaking to me or her mom...That girl is more like a big sister to me."

She went on to allege that Banks' husband was 'not willing to help LAPD' or the family in their search.

The family said they recently entered the apartment she had been living in with her husband to find a bunch of her belongings still there, but her laptop and phone were missing.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page said: “On November 10 my aunt and I were able to get into the apartment and all of her belongings are still there. The only items we did not locate are her phone and laptop. She also does not go anywhere without her little dog, which also has been left behind. She also does not have her vehicle because it’s parked in her garage. She would NEVER go anywhere without telling her mom or myself.”

Now a major update has been issued with law enforcement saying that the 36-year-old has been found alive and well.

Police confirmed that the actress has been located to news outlets such as ABC7.

According to the LAPD source, foul play is not suspected. Police have not provided any further details.

However, the family have since argued that the woman located by police isn't Banks and maintained that she is still missing, vowing to continue to put up posters of her.

Yesterday, messages were reportedly posted to a social media account under Banks’ name yesterday with the headline: “I am not missing.”

Among other claims about her family in the messages, she apparently said she willingly left to 'escape my cage'.

UNILAD has approached the LAPD for comment on the matter.

Banks is best known for playing Sawyer Bennett in the third series of the popular TV show Gossip Girl, while also appearing in the likes of Blue Bloods and Twelve.
