Joe Jonas shares message about ‘doing the right thing’ amid divorce from Sophie Turner

The pair announced they are separating

Joe Jonas has posted a cryptic message to his Instagram page after resolving the custody battle with his estranged wife Sophie Turner.

The pair had been embroiled in a custody battle over their children Willa, three, and Delphine, one, after announcing their intention to divorce.

Now, the pair have confirmed they have agreed upon a custody arrangement following mediation.

In a statement to Page Six Tuesday, they said: “After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the U.S. and the UK.

“We look forward to being great co-parents.”

In the wake of the agreement, Jonas has posted to his Instagram page.

The post features the musician looking into a mirror, with the message written on it.

It reads: “I am at the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing.”

However, the custody agreement the pair have reached is just temporary.

It comes after Turner sued Jonas for the 'immediate return' of the pair's children to what she described as their 'forever home' in the UK when he filed for divorce.

The Game of Thrones star alleged that Jonas had changed his mind about moving abroad, and was withholding the children's passports.

A representative for Jonas denied the allegations, telling PageSix: “Joe is seeking shared parenting with the kids so that they are raised by both their mother and father, and is of course also okay with the kids being raised both in the US and the UK."

A representative had previously affirmed Jonas' commitment to mediation, saying: "Joe is committed to making it work with Sophie in mediation and doesn’t want to put up a fight — as long as they can come to a fair agreement on the kids."

Court documents reveal that the custody agreement states Turner is able to take the girls back to the UK from 9 October to 21 October. She will then have to take them back to their father, who will have them until 2 November.

The pair will then continue swapping custody through 7 January 2024. This means that Jonas will have them for Thanksgiving, and Turner will have them for Christmas.

Jonas filed for divorce from Turner after four years of marriage.

The divorce petition states that 'the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken'.

Jonas and Turner also issued a joint statement saying that their decision to divorce had been amicable and mutual.
