Megan Fox has been the subject of some pretty heavy criticism after asking fans to help by donating towards $30,000 fundraiser for a friend’s father.
On the surface of things, it seems like a pretty innocuous thing to do.
Fox - who was recently shoved into a barrier during a scuffle at the Orange County Fair - just shared an Instagram story that featured a link to a GoFundMe page set up by her friend Brittany Boyce.
The Nails of LA manicurist is appealing for help after her father Michael was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer earlier this month.

Family and friends are attempting to raise the cash to pay for the 64-year-old's medical expenses ‘so he can focus on himself and not the stress on finances’.
The 37-year-old Transformers star shared the link, telling her fans: "My friends dad was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer if you guys are able to help please."
Obviously, she’s just trying to do a good turn to her friend, but some people who have seen the post have been left ‘speechless’ and asked why the movie star couldn’t use some of her reported $8 million fortune to give a helping hand.

One person tweeted: "Megan Fox asking fans to donate, to raise 30 grand for her dads mates cancer treatment, is an absolute p**s take!"
A second person added: "Millionaire Megan Fox just posted a GoFundMe on her Instagram story for her friend's dad's 30 grand cancer medical bills and I am absolutely speechless."
Another said: "Megan Fox sharing a GoFundMe for 30k has got to be a joke.”
However, not everyone has been quite so critical.

Let’s not forget, none of us know what the real story behind the scenes is, after all.
"She gave something too I’m sure," said one person.
Another wrote: "I am wrong often.
“It seems like she was trying to do a nice thing by passing along, how people could help out the man, if they were able to.

“People that have money, often donate silently, without seeking the accolades."
A third asked: "My question is why people s***ing on Megan Fox for crowd funding for her friends even though she’s an underpaid actress? No shade."
So far, the GoFundMe has raised around $7,600 towards a target of $60,000, with the top donations coming in at $300 and several gifts of $250 and $200.

The top anonymous donation is listed at $180.
Though – of course – Megan may have chosen to make her own donation offline and not go through the official GoFundMe page.
If you do want to donate to the GoFundMe page – undoubtedly for a good cause – you can do so here.
