Comedian Natasha Leggero has explained why she took her top off on stage during a recent set.
The comedian, 49, was performing at the popular comedy club Hollywood Improv where the likes of David Spade and Tiffany Haddish were also on that night's setlist.
But the show at the Skyler Stone’s Comedy Rocks event in Los Angeles was far from ordinary, as Leggero began by whipping her top off, leaving her completely in the nude from the waist up.

The room was definitely behind the stunt, but the comedian revealed she wasn't just aiming to shock and was actually making an important point.
Ahead of Leggero's gig, shirt-hating stand-up star Bert Kreischer had warmed up the crowd and obviously pulled his trademark move while cracking some jokes.
The bare-chested man says he always ends up peeling his clothes off because 'fat guys take their shirts off all the time at home', adding that he sees it as a way to 'remind myself that I’m supposed to be having a good time'.
He managed to impress the audience with his set, but footage from the show seems to suggest Leggero had some thoughts about his trademark schtick.

Kreischer could be seen naked from the waist up in the clip while introducing the next act on stage, describing her as one of the 'funniest comedians in the world'.
Leggero then strutted on stage to Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg's hit track 'Still D.R.E', and people were certainly taken aback by the stunt she immediately pulled.
Wearing a faux fur coat, a white t-shirt and a pair of blue dungarees, she quickly began removing all of her layers and tossing her clothes to a man positioned in the front row.

Kreischer can be heard in the audience yelling: "Holy s**t! Oh my god. The f**king best. I'm going to have to take my pants off now!"
Adding to the crowd: "If the boys can do it, why can’t the girls?"
And to be honest, who can argue with that.
Now, Leggero has explained further why she decided to embark on the stunt after a paparazzo spotted her departing the Pasadena Playhouse on Sunday.

In a video obtained by Page Six, the cameraman told the comedian how people were 'shocked' by her show, to which Leggero promptly replied: "That I have such a huge t*ts?"
On a more serious note, Leggero said that most comedians 'don't want to' go shirtless, but she was trying to tell an important message to the crowd.
"I was trying to make a point," she shared.

Leggero’s husband, Moshe Kasher, then joked that 'she’s not feeling her husband' as the paparazzo pressed her on what exactly the point was.
"It’s a bigger story actually," Kasher added.
