Fans are convinced Ryan Reynolds trolled Justin Baldoni with joke in Deadpool & Wolverine

Fans are convinced Ryan Reynolds trolled Justin Baldoni with joke in Deadpool & Wolverine

The scene has resurfaced in the wake of Blake Lively's legal action against her It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni

Fans following the tense lawsuit battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have spotted what they claim is her husband making a dig at Baldoni in another movie.

Lively and Baldoni starred alongside one another in the another in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's best-selling book It Ends With Us, with Baldoni also directing.

However, in December, Lively filed a lawsuit against her co-star, with the Gossip Girl actress accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and of instigating a 'social manipulation' campaign against her.

The lawsuit alleges various misconduct of a sexual nature and a toxic work environment shadowed over the set, which caused the mother-of-four to suffer 'severe emotional distress'.

The 37-year-old also claimed Baldoni had attempted to add 'improvised gratuitous sexual content and/or scenes involving nudity into the film' as well as making comments about her appearance - with the complaint alleging that he had 'cried for hours in her dressing room' because she didn't look 'hot'.

A meeting was reportedly held between the co-stars while in the midst of filming, which was attended by various producers and Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds.

But after filming, Lively's legal action claims Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios then tried to 'destroy' her reputation through 'social manipulation' - using the same crisis communications team, headed by Melissa Nathan, that supported Johnny Depp in his infamous defamation trial with Amber Heard.

In response, Baldoni's attorney, Bryan Freedman, slammed Lively's claims as 'intentionally salacious' and criticized her move as 'another desperate attempt to 'fix' her negative reputation'.

The lawyer made further accusations that Lively herself 'threatened' not to show up or promote the film and said the agency group was doing its job while 'experiencing threats by two extremely powerful people'.

On New Year's Eve, Lively filed a federal complaint, noting that her 'decision to speak out has resulted in further retaliation and attacks'.

Lively previously lifted the lid on her legal action in the New York Times - which Baldoni is now suing for libel and false light invasion of privacy.

The messy spat has thrown a spotlight on Deadpool & Wolverine, as fans now believe Reynolds trolled Baldoni.

In the clip, Deadpool and Wolverine meet a Deadpool 'variant' named Nicepool - who has a man bun, a hairstyle Baldoni has had.

Nicepool then makes a comment about Ladypool, who is played by Lively, saying: "Oh my goodness, wait until you've seen Ladypool. She is gorgeous. She just had a baby too and [you] can't even tell."

The character, played by Reynolds, defends his offensive comment, saying: "That's ok. I identify as a feminist."

Baldoni has frequently identified as a feminist, from his TED talk in 2017, where he said he was 'amplifying the voices of women around the world', to an article in Romper where he said he was a 'feminist dad'.

In another scene, Deadpool snaps at supervillain, Cassandra Nova saying 'And where in God's name is the intimacy coordinator?'

Reynolds not only wrote the Deadpool & Wolverine script but the movie only finished filming five months after he supported Lively in the It Ends With Us meeting.

Lively had also given birth to their fourth child just months before filming and had alleged Baldoni made comments body-shaming her and that there was 'no intimacy coordinator' on the filmset in her legal action.

Reynolds and Baldoni's representatives have been contacted for comment.
