Film fans have been left cringing after a seemingly innocent question about Jennifer Love Hewitt saw Sarah Michelle Gellar acting strangely.
The two film stars both appeared in the 1997 thriller I Know What You Did Last Summer, and Sarah has sparked rumours of a feud thanks to her reaction.
While being interviewed on the red carpet, the Buffy The Vampire Slayer star was asked about her co-star's return: "I know that Jennifer Love Hewitt said that she's possibly returning?"

Sarah pulled an unimpressed grimacing face and shrugged, as the interviewer replied: "You can't tell if that's how it could be?"
"I have nothing to do with that," said Gellar abruptly before trying to walk away from the interviewer, who scrambled to hold her attention by asking her about her plans for the holidays.
Awkward.

Fans have been commenting on the painful interaction online, wondering what on earth has gone on with the pair for Sarah to react so badly to a mention of Jennifer's name.
"What's the beef?" wrote one.
"Look at her face! She hates her so much!" speculated another.
Others defended Sarah: "She’s probably tired, after 30 years of it, of being asked about the same people. Much like the problem with dating nowadays. Ask her about herself.

"SMG has already said she won’t be a part of the reboot. Maybe her annoyance was more directed at the interviewer and the question rather than JLH?" said another.
Fans had been hoping for a full cast reunion, after Sarah shared a photo she had taken on the set of the new film.
Her husband, Freddie Prinze Jr, is set to reprise his role in the new film.

She revealed she 'got in a little bit of trouble' for the picture she posted on Thanksgiving.
“You would think that being in my position, I know what rules are on sets when they say closed sets, you know,” she said on Live with Kelly and Mark.
She continued: “So my husband’s starring in the movie and it was Thanksgiving so I took our kids to Australia to go out there and visit him. And I was sitting on set and I was like, ‘Oh what a great picture,’ and then I posted it.
“Then I found out that they hadn’t posted any pictures from the set yet — hadn’t announced they started filming. Yeah … that was an ‘Oops! My bad!'” she confessed.
Maybe Sarah is just trying to not give away any further secrets?!

“My bad. But it was such a cool picture, and it was so much fun. I mean, that’s the movie Freddie and I met on. So, it was really cool to bring our kids there. And my best friend in California is directing it and wrote it. It was just such a special time. And so, I got in a little bit of trouble.” Whoops indeed.
Other fans have noted that Sarah's character in the film is dead, so unless there's a ghost or a flashback she's unlikely to be appearing.
Elsewhere, Jennifer Love Hewitt admitted she is 'more than hoping' to be a part of the reboot and confessed she had been waiting for the question to be asked.
Speaking to E! News she said: "I will have an answer very, very soon on that." Such a tease!
We'll have to wait and see.
