Sylvester Stallone is permanently leaving California to move to Florida

Sylvester Stallone's daughters questioned whether the actor was joking about selling the family home and moving after he told them.

Sylvester Stallone has announced he is moving to the sunshine state after a long and difficult decision with his wife.

I must have missed something because I thought the Rocky actor lived on the East Coast in either New York or Philadelphia.

Well, Sylvester Stallone is going to be on the East Coast now, as the action star said he and his wife Jennifer Flavin Stallone, are going to be saying goodbye to California and moving to Florida.

In a strange turn of events, Stallone - who previously revealed he writes his daughters' break-up texts for them and generally tries to intimidate their boyfriends - made the announcement during the season two premier of his reality TV show The Family Stallone.

“After long, hard consideration, your mother and I have decided, time to move on and leave the state of California permanently,” he told his daughters Scarlet, Sistine and Sophia over a family dinner.

“And, we’re going to Florida, we are going to sell this house,” he added.

His daughters questioned whether he was joking before he confirmed ‘it's a done deal’ and they already have a spot in Florida.

Jennifer added: “It’s an empty nest, I need to change it up.”

Moving once all the kids have finally left the family home happens with many families and Jennifer explained that was a big reason for the move.

As 27-year-old Sophia and 25-year-old Sistine moved together to New York City and their youngest Scarlet, 21, headed off to college at the University of Miami, it seems the Stallone ma and pa are a bit tired of the old empty home.

In a confessional interview, Jennifer said: “I raised all three of our daughters in California.

“Everything’s a memory to me, memories of them not being there anymore. So, I needed a big change and Sly went along with it.”

The Stallone family have already been given a warm welcome by the Florida Governor’s wife Casey DeSantis.

Writing on X, she rather bizarrely wrote: “Welcome to the Free State of Florida!

“In addition to respecting and protecting your God-given, constitutional right to be free, you can also buy toothpaste without having an armed guard in CVS unlock it for you.”

Some social media users also welcomed the star to their state.

“He’s an awesome human being, as well as a great actor, I certainly welcome him as a neighbor,” wrote one user.

“With Gavin Newsom as the governor who would blame the people from leaving California,” another wrote.

“Does he want to take the famous Rocky statue in Philadelphia to Florida? We will ship it "Free of charge" gladly,” another joked.
