Fyre Festival had all the ingredients to be the best thing to ever happen.
A music festival with top music artists from around the globe, on a tropical island with leagues of supermodels.
So what did we learn from Billy McFarland? That if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.

But hey - why not take a second run at it?
McFarland, the man behind the failed Fyre Festival, was released from prison last March and is now fully planning his comeback.
He tweeted: "Fyre Festival II is finally happening."

Guess it's on.
The convicted fraudster went on to ask his Twitter followers to tell him why they think they deserve an invite to Epic Fail 2.0.
And people were keen to jump on this Twitter thread of idiocy.
One person joked: "My boy Billy bout to sell y’all a festival in Antarctica with luxury cabanas and performances by Bruno Mars."
A second chipped: "I want to meet any human who paid this dips**t USD$1800 (AUD$2,700, £1,450) per hour for consulting.

They added: "The balls on this failure are massive."
A third quipped: "Oh, please god, let this happen. And please let the same morons who feel for it the first time fall for it again."
They had a message for Netflix: "Please start making the documentary immediately."
Laksie tech cofounder Chris Bakke, tweeted out a screenshot to confirm he had received a personal invitation to Fyre Fest II.

Then, after that, Fyre Fest III, apparently.
"Going to crush the island version first, but @ElonMusk Fyre 3 definitely needs to be in space," McFarland said on Twitter.
Well, yee haw, space cowboys. Fyre Fest feat. Elon Musk in space.
Seems legit.
Shortly after his release from jail last year, the failed Fyre founder revealed he was kicking off with a new startup, PYRT.

He sat down with the hosts of the Full Send Podcast in November and told them PYRT would include a hotel, events, 'treasure hunts', and merchandise, according to Insider.
So Fyre Festival II? PYRT? MoonFest?
Who knows at this point. We're getting whiplash.
No details of any of McFarland's big ideas are known yet (or have been fleshed out).
But let's just hope the islander locals and Andy King aren't left with another huge mess like the 2017 Fyre Festival.
