Marksman Kim Ye-ji seemed to have the most reserved reaction after crushing a five-year-old record on one of the biggest stage in the world.
Now personally, if I was a world class athlete and had just won gold for my country in competition, and had just set the world record, I would make that my entire personality.
When i'd be asked simple questions like ‘How's your day been?’ the only fitting response would be ‘Yeah, as a world-class athlete who set the world record at the 2024 Baku World Cup, It has been going pretty well’.

As far as I am concerned, you have put in the hard work and earned the right to flex on people under any and all circumstances.
But for South Korean shooter Kim Ye-ji, she couldn’t seem any less phased by the massive and historic achievement she just made.
A few months ago in May, before representing her country in the ongoing Paris 2024 Olympics, the markswoman took the gold medal while competing in the women's 25m pistol competition International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup.

Shooting with one hand in her pocket, Ye-ji looked as cool and calm as Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator participating in the event.
But despite the announcer getting exciting about the feat, Ye-ji didn’t even appear to give a smirk, a reaction that people on social media couldn’t help but notice as the clip began to recirculate in recent days.
“When you are the best at doing something you hate. ‘Yep, World Record... yeeeee.... anyway, see ya losers',” joked one user on Reddit.
“And she's nonchalant about it, oh she's the coldest main character out there,” another added.

“This is COLD, thank you so much Kim Yeji for introducing me to this sport,” said a third as the fan-girled over the shooter.
“I like to think that she works as a hitman (or hitwoman) while she doesn't train for the Olympics, but with the same attitude,” another joked... I at least hope they are joking.
On a Reddit page showing the Ye-ji's shot, one user explained the supposed reason that shooters don’t tend to have massive reactions compared to other athletes.
They said: “They can't really react. There's rules around target shooting that limit what they can and can't do.

"Boisterous behaviour" can be punished with disqualification. There's even rules for the gait you use to walk off the range.
"No reactions" is a bit of an oversimplification. But this sort of reaction isn't uncommon and there are rules in place both for safety and to prevent distractions for other competitors.”
This would make sense, I can’t imagine anything worse than working years to get to a massive competition and break a record only to get disqualified cause you decided to fire a couple rounds into the sky as part of your celebration.

All in all, congrats Ye-ji!
