An eagle-eyed Marvel fan spotted an extra in the background of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness who really took the word ‘extra’ and ran with it.
Posting a clip from the flick on Twitter, Johnny Neff (@JohnnyNeff_) wrote: “Her agent told her to give the performance of a lifetime and she did."
In a follow-up tweet, he added: “She’s a star baby!”

I know you're absolutely dying to see the clip - so here it is:
In the clip, Stephen Strange – played by Benedict Cumberbatch – is attending (spoiler alert!) the wedding of Christine Palmer – played by Rachel McAdams – and takes a seat in the church.
Once sitting down, he begins a conversation with Nic West (Michael Stuhlbarg), but the real action is going on in the background.

Because just behind Cumberbatch’s shoulder a blonde extra puts on the performance of a lifetime, engaging in a very lively and animated chat with someone, before somewhat dramatically looking around the room. She also manages to look directly into the camera on more than one occasion, smashing right through the fourth wall.
As you can imagine, the funny clip has since gone viral with social media users praising the woman as the ‘new Meryl Streep’, while others claimed she had ‘better acting’ than everyone else within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Shots fired.
One person said: “New Meryl Streep just dropped.”

Another said: “Still better acting than the entire Marvel cast.”
A third person tweeted: “Academy award for Best supporting character right there yup.”
“This is what I’m talking about! I don’t give a damn how Small your part is. Give it your ALL and play it like it’s just as important as a Lead. I hope she gets a GOOD, JUICY role in something soon,” said another.
While someone else joked: “She is someone's aunt that knows all the gossip going on between Christine's family and the groom's family. I just know it.”

Others demanded the woman be given her own Disney+ spin-off and were keen to learn her backstory.
Some fans also noted that director Sam Raimi often has over-the-top extras in his flicks. As yet, the extra extra hasn’t been identified, but here’s hoping she’s invited back into the Multiverse in the future.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is available to watch on Disney+ now.
