Eva Longoria has responded to fans who have called for a return of her cult classic ABC television show Desperate Housewives. And we're afraid it's bad news.
The eighth and final season of the hit ABC series of the show may have hit our TV screens more than 10 years ago, but that doesn't mean Longoria doesn't dream of stepping into the iconic shoes of her character Gabrielle Solis once more.
The 49-year-old star sat down for a chat with Access Hollywood, chatting with host Mario Lopez about a potential return to Wisteria Lane.

Longoria revealed she'd 'be the first to sign up'.
"I miss Gabby so much. I miss being Gabby Solis," she added.
But how likely is it that we'll see the ABC hit return to the small screen?
Yeah, according to Longoria, it's not very likely.

"I don't know if we could do the show today, I think we'd get cancelled," the Flamin' Hot director told ET Online.
"I mean, not cancelled on TV but like cancelled in culture because it was so groundbreaking. We said and did so many things that were shocking at the time."
Longoria revealed she had no idea what the Desperate Housewives gals would be up to these days.

Well, all but her own character, that is.
"She’d be an influencer for sure. She’d be like a social media mogul," she told Access Hollywood.
The iconic soapy-drama graced our TV screens from 2004 to 2012, chronicling a close-knit group of housewives living in a seemingly perfect neighbourhood.
Of course, the ladies who live on Wisteria Lane are anything but innocent, with the much-loved program exposing their secrets, crimes, forbidden romances and struggles throughout the years.

Longoria reckons the schtick has grown a little tired, which is another reason why the show won't be back on TV anytime soon.
"I could not sleep with one more person on that street - like, I was like, 'I've slept with everybody. You've slept with everybody! We've exchanged husbands," she said.

"It was like, 'What else? What other stories could we possibly tell [with] these women?' And so that's [creator Marc Cherry's] big, big thing."
Longoria added: "He's like, 'Why now?' He doesn't want to reboot just to reboot."
