Obi-Wan Kenobi star Hayden Christensen has said it felt ‘incredible’ being back in his Darth Vader costume after almost two decades.
Christensen reprised his role for the new Disney+ series alongside Ewan McGregor, who returns as the titular Jedi Master.
Discussing what it was like to don the costume 17 years after his appearance in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, Christensen said it was ‘emotional’.

In an interview with the Radio Times, he said: "Being in the costume again was incredible. It's an amazing, iconic costume, and it imparts a lot of feeling when you put it on.
"For me, it was a very emotional experience and very cathartic, in a lot of ways."
The actor also said there was quite a bit of preparation involved in getting himself Vader ready.

“There was a lot of physical prep, just trying to put on some size so I could fill out the suit a little bit more,” he explained.
“So most of my time on this was actually spent in preparation.”
And it seems as though Christensen doesn’t want all that preparation to go to waste and he’s admitted that he’d be keen for his character to get its own spin-off.
Speaking to ET Online, he was asked if he’d ever be interested in being a part of his own series following the iconic villain, to which he responded: “Absolutely, I think this is a character that resonates in our culture in a very profound way, and there’s certainly more there to explore."

He added: "There are so many other stories that have been told in these other mediums, and I would love to get to continue my journey with him."
Obi-Wan Kenobi has proved to be a huge hit with fans and has earned itself an impressive 7.9/10 on IMDb after just three of its six episodes have been released.

“The [Obi-Wan Kenobi series] writers and [director Deborah Chow] and I and everyone, I think we crafted or they crafted a very fine storyline. I think people are going to like it."
