It’s motherfreakin’ official: Jeffrey Dean Morgan has joined the cast of The Boys.
The Walking Dead actor will appear as a recurring guest star, although further details about who he’ll play remain under wraps.
The new gig reunites Morgan with The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke, who created Supernatural, the CW series he starred in as John Winchester.

Kripke recently revealed he’d been keen to get Morgan on the show for some time, telling E! News: “Jeffrey Dean Morgan is a superfan of the show, so he and I are talking. We’re trying to figure out something for season four.
“Nothing finalised yet, but he and I are chatting and emailing and seeing if we can make it work with his busy schedule. So, stay tuned on that.”
Viewers are still raving about the third series of Amazon Prime's hit superhero show, with many describing it as the best season yet.

Production of the fourth season of The Boys is already underway, and earlier this week, actor Karl Urban (AKA Billy Butcher) took to Instagram to share a first-look at season four Butcher.
Urban captioned his snap: “Daddy’s home!” while flashing the camera a lopsided grin.
Season four’s plot has been kept under wraps, but it looks as though Jensen Ackles (Soldier Boy) will be making a return following his season three debut.

Although it hasn’t been officially confirmed, Ackles hinted he’d be back on Instagram when he commented on a photo shared by Urban.
Urban uploaded a snap of himself and his co-star Jack Quaid captioned: “Start as you mean to go on! Season [four,] let’s go!!!”
Down in the comments section, Ackles replied, saying: “Pour me a double… I’m on my way.”
We already knew that Ackles was eager to make a comeback as Soldier Boy - in an interview with Variety in July, he said: “I’d like to get a call off the bench, and I don’t think [Eric Kripke] ever wants to close any doors. […] I don’t know what the future holds for Soldier Boy, I have not seen anything or heard anything.

“I know that there’s some possibilities, but I think that’s all being worked out right now, as to how or when or why that character will be used in the future.”
Kripke has also expressed his excitement over the show’s return, telling Comic Book: “We're thrilled to continue Butcher and the Boys' fight against Homelander and the Seven, as well as comment on the insane world we're living in.”
