Adam Sandler has stepped away from his usual comedy movies for his newest film Spaceman.
A teaser for the highly anticipated movie was dropped last month, and now the full trailer has been released by Netflix.
Spaceman's synopsis reads: "Six months into a solitary research mission to the edge of the solar system, an astronaut, Jakub (Adam Sandler), realizes that the marriage he left behind might not be waiting for him when he returns to Earth."
It continues: "Desperate to fix things with his wife, Lenka (Carey Mulligan), he is helped by a mysterious creature from the beginning of time he finds hiding in the bowels of his ship

"Hanuš (voiced by Paul Dano) works with Jakub to make sense of what went wrong before it is too late."
And the new trailer has now revealed that the 'mysterious creature' is in fact a giant spider.
Was anyone else totally not expecting the creature to be a spider, or was it just me?
In light of Sandler opting to star in a drama rather than his usual comedy movies, his fans have expressed their excitement to see him play a different role.

"Adam Sandler is underrated in drama roles," one person said.
"He knocked it out of the park with Uncut Gems like Jim Carrey did in The Truman Show. The funniest people on the planet live in the darkest corners. I'm excited to see Sandler in a serious role again. I'm happy for him."
Also noting Uncut Gems, someone else wrote: "I love the Adam Sandler classic comedies, but I'm so excited to see what more Sandler is bringing.

"He always continues to surprise me ever since he did Uncut Gems."
Another added: "I hope this is turns out to be a good movie, I'm always looking forward to see Adam Sandler getting cast against type in a non comedy role. Adding Carey Mulligan in the mix as part of the cast increases my interest."
According to Entertainment Weekly, Spaceman will make its worldwide debut at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival, which kicks off on February 15.

It will then be released on Netflix on March 1.
The film is said to be based on 2017 science fiction book written by Jaroslav Kalfař, Spaceman of Bohemia.
Spaceman of Bohemia's synopsis reads: "Orphaned as a boy, raised in the Czech countryside by his doting grandparents, Jakub Procházka has risen from small-time scientist to become the country's first astronaut.
"When a dangerous solo mission to Venus offers him both the chance at heroism he's dreamt of, and a way to atone for his father's sins as a Communist informer, he ventures boldly into the vast unknown.

"But in so doing, he leaves behind his devoted wife, Lenka, whose love, he realizes too late, he has sacrificed on the altar of his ambitions."
It's unclear how closely the film will follow the novel's plot.
