Netflix has revealed the next notorious serial killer for season three of series Monster alongside which actor will star.
Monster first debuted on Netflix back in 2022 and the second season is set for release in just two days time (September 19).
However, amid building excitement for the next 10-episode instalment, series co-creator Ryan Murphy has revealed what - or more importantly who - is set to be in store for the third season. Prepare to nibble your nails in fear during a peek of the second season below:
The first season of Monster focused on serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer and the second instalment of the anthology series focuses on the Menendez brothers - titled Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.

And during a promotional event for the second Monster season in Los Angeles, Murphy revealed serial killer Ed Gein will be the subject of the third season.
Ed Gein - a.k.a. 'the Butcher of Plainfield' or the 'Plainfield Ghoul' - is a prolific murderer from Wisconsin, US, whose character has been drawn upon for multiple horror movies and characters including Buffalo Bill in The Silence of the Lambs, Leatherface in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Norman Bates in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho.
Gein gained notoriety after it was discovered by authorities he'd dug up corpses from local graveyards, collecting their skin and bones and making items such as clothing from the remains.
He admitted to killing two women and is suspected of being a serial killer and connected to several other unsolved cases, however, he was found unfit to stand trial and taken to a mental health facility instead.

When he stood trial in 1968 he was declared legally insane and taken to a psychiatric institution, later passing away from lung cancer in 1984 at the age of 77.
And Monster co-creator Murphy also revealed who's set to play the killer.
Actor Charlie Hunnam - best known for his roles in Sons of Anarchy and The Gentleman - is set to play the prolific grave-robber.

And it's not taken long for Monster fans to flood to social media to weigh in on season's three focus on Gein alongside the casting choice.
One Twitter user said: "It will be a powerful addition to the series."
"This will be a great choice, like that," another added.
A third commented: "That sounds fascinating! Hunnam should bring a unique depth to the role."

And a fourth resolved: "I gotta check out this series."
