A Netflix thriller with three seasons has been hailed by subscribers as a ‘must-watch’ by fans—but it may have flown right under your radar.
When you think of Netflix Originals, we imagine science fiction and fantasy fans’ minds head straight for Stranger Things and The Witcher.
Those with a penchant for romance may class Virgin River or Bridgerton as their go-to’s while animation enthusiasts are likely to gush about Blood of Zeus or Blue Eye Samurai.

Another Original series that may have passed you by is a German-speaking mystery drama directed by Baran bo Odar.
The programme, which debuted on the streaming platform back in December 2017, follows a group of dysfunctional characters from the fictional town of Winden, Germany.
Across three seasons, the sci-fi show explores how time can impact human nature and life, with the final instalment actually taking place in a parallel reality.

Of course, we’ve been describing the premise of Dark - the first German-speaking Original Series developed by the streamer.
The synopsis for season one reads: "When two children go missing in a small German town, its sinful past is exposed along with the double lives and fractured relationships that exist among four families as they search for the kids.

"The mystery-drama series introduces an intricate puzzle filled with twists that includes a web of curious characters, all of whom have a connection to the town's troubled history - whether they know it or not. The story includes supernatural elements that tie back to the same town in 1986."
More than six years on from its debut, Netflix viewers are still raving about it.
One person said of the series on social media a few months ago: "Dark is, simply put, a must-watch!

"The third season features a satisfying conclusion that could be considered one of the best we have seen from this genre."
Meanwhile, as recently as yesterday (November 23), someone asked fellow Netflix users if Dark was worth a watch.
Urging them to give it a try, someone penned on Facebook: "I loved this show! You have to concentrate on it. If you play with your phone or walk away for a bit you will miss something and won't know what's going on.
"It's mind bending! I was totally hooked!"

A fourth went on: "Honest review is the show is 100 out of 100."
And people's opinions are back up by Rotten Tomatoes reviews. At the time of writing, Dark boasts an impressive 95 percent on its Tomatometer, as well as having a 94 percent audience score.
All three seasons of Dark are currently available to stream on Netflix, and it sounds like it could be the perfect watch to binge over Christmas.
