One contestant’s behavior on Jeopardy! has ignited a furious debate among fans after some admitted to turning off the show.
Contestant Aaron Craig appeared on the hit show’s Champions Wildcard tournament on November 3.
However, the Jeopardy! contestant quickly infuriated some of the show’s fans on Reddit.

“I turned the TV off after the self-congratulatory behavior,” one Reddit user fumed.
“I certainly am not rooting for this guy to win and not even sure if I’ll watch the rest of the tournament. I’ve watched Jeopardy for decades and don’t recall seeing such rudeness.”

“I’m still going to watch but I agree, I’m not rooting for him,” one user replied.
Another added: "The guy was such a cocky jerk, I really hope his a** doesn’t win. I’m rooting Mr Mohawk.”

After realizing he was going to the final, he kissed his fingers and gestured to his family who were in the crowd. He then proceeded to clap his hands loudly while smiling and saying ‘let’s go.’
Some social media used were left confused by the negative reaction from fans, with some defending Craig and his excited celebration.
“I agree [the self applause was a bit much] but on the other hand it seemed pretty genuine on his part. I don't think he was trying to rub it in; I think he just got so excited that he forgot his manners.”
Another said: “I’d much rather have the contestants show some excitement when they win. There are way too many wooden contestants. It’s entertainment TV after all.”

A former Champions Wildcard winner also came to Craig’s defence and said it can often be difficult to contain emotions after victories at this stage.

“In one of my games (I have no idea which one) I was so mad that I'd rung in with an incorrect answer that I stomped my foot. (And this is on top of my usual buzzer technique, which is definitely on the dramatic side.) I'm not sure if it was noticeable on camera or not. The adrenaline does wild things to you.”
