A Lost actor says she was 'devastated' when her character died partway through season two.
Actress Maggie Grace played Shannon Rutherford in the drama which saw plane passengers stranded on an island following a crash.
The TV series ran from 2004 until 2010, but for Grace she only featured in the first two seasons as her spoilt rich kid character was killed off early on.

Viewers watched as Shannon grew close to Iraqi officer Sayid (played by Naveen Andrews), but ultimately died when she was accidentally shot and killed by Ana Lucia Cortez, who mistakes her for an Other.
The short lived appearance came at the start of Grace's career, before she went on to pick up roles on The Walking Dead, Law & Order and films like Twilight and Taken.
Speaking to The Independent, Grace shared: "I thought they were gonna take her a little further."

She added that she didn't want to see her character killed off, as she continued: "It’s still the worst heartbreak of my career. I was devastated!"
For Grace, she'd hoped that Shannon might have had a stronger storyline or have seen her on-screen romance continue as she added: "I thought maybe she would do something surprising, or have another colour [to her personality].
"Maybe she’d, at the last moment, redeem herself and be incredibly self-sacrificial in some way.
"I guess there were flashes of it, but not in the way I hoped in terms of an arc."

Those that didn't get a chance to watch Lost the first time around can now catch it on Netflix as six series of the island drama have landed on the streaming platform.
The series also features Lord of the Rings actor Dominic Monaghan and Ant-Man and the Wasp actress Evangeline Lilly.
Last month Lilly announced she was quitting acting and Hollywood. She made the announcement via her Instagram as she shared a video of her starting out her acting career in 2006 - before she explained her reasons for leaving acting and stepping away from Hollywood.

In the video she can be seen on the set of Lost, where she played Kate on the desert island drama, talking about her plans and ambitions for the next ten years.
Evangeline is best known for her breakout roles in Lost, before going on to star in films such as The Hurt Locker and Ant-Man and The Wasp as well as Avengers: Endgame.
